Recycling Plant Metal Restoration Project
Overview
This high volume Recycling Plant located in Atlanta Georgia is in the process of restoring metal components at is North Atlanta location. Due to the highly corrosive nature of the materials they recycle including (concrete, metal, cardboard and dirt) they needed their conveyors, conex containers, metal platforms and stairwells sandblasted free of rust, corrosion and paint in preparation for repainting the metal surfaces with industrial paint. The general contractor (Benise-Dowling) hired us to sandblast the most degraded metal components prior to repainting them.
Goals of the Project
- Remove paint and rust off metal stairwells, platforms, conveyers and conex containers in preparation for repainting.
- Leave a profile on the metal that would help the new primer and paint to adhere to the sandblasted surfaces for longevity and a professional look.
- Improve the metal surfaces that were badly degraded by dirt, failing paint and rust to accelerate the priming and painting aspects of the project.
