LEAPLEY CONSTRUCTION - Proscenium Building Repositioning Project
Overview
Proscenium is a 24-story Class A office tower in Midtown offering 520,000 square feet of office and retail space with flexible 25,000-square-foot floor plates. Located steps from Colony Square and near MARTA, Proscenium offers easy access to I-75/85 and GA-400. With a high Walk Score and over 1,000 parking spaces on-site and nearby, it delivers a modern, connected, and commuter-friendly workplace in one of Atlanta’s most vibrant neighborhoods. Leapley Construction was contracted to reposition the entrance of the building with new decorative concrete, hardscape, upgrade the Crescent Avenue entrance to meet ADA requirements, and enhance the exterior of the building with steel and glass upgrades. Atlanta Blasting was hired as a subcontractor to help them achieve the projects goals of enhancing the main entrance exterior columns.
Goals of the Project
- Restore the bottom sections of the columns using sandblasting to eliminate rust on the internal column reinforcement supports.
- Leave a NACE 2 SPPC SP 10 Near white metal blast profile on the severely rusted angle iron supports.
- Apply two coats of rust inhibitor to prevent flash rust on the metal.
