Atlanta Blasting Pro’s Featured Restoration Project

September 2026

Overview

Our client [a private cement manufacturer] was seeking to restore several 3000 gallon cement silos to use at their cement manufacturing facilities. The goal of the project was to restore the exterior metal surfaces of the slios to make them look brand new. The cost to restore the silos for this client was fractional compared to the cost to pruchase new equipment saving the company hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Goals of the Project

  1. Remove years of corrosion, cement, deteriorated paint and rust from the metal surfaces
  2. Prepare the metal surfaces for new coatings
  3. Re-coat and Re-decal the silos to enter them back into their fleet for usage
  4. See step by step details of the restoration process below the before and after photos & video

Cement Manufacturing Silo restoration project

Phase 1: Comprehensive Surface Preparation & Contaminant Removal

The restoration begins with the systematic extraction of legacy coatings, accumulated cement scale, and advanced oxidation from the silo’s exterior metallic infrastructure.

Phase 2: Metallurgical Stabilization & Corrosion Mitigation

Immediately following the mechanical profile creation, the exposed substrate is stabilized against environmental variables.

Phase 3: High-Durability Primer Application

With the substrate fully stabilized and profiled, the primary protective barrier is established.

Phase 4: High-Performance Topcoat Architecture

The final phase seals the restoration under a premium, weather-resistant aesthetic and protective shield.
Phase Process Stage Specifications & Media Target Standard / Output
