Costco Warehouse Column Restoration Project
Overview
This Costco Warehouse located in Kennesaw Georgia was experiencing recurring paint degradation at the bottom of the cement columns (grey sections of the columns shown in the picture above). The root cause of this condition was moisture run off and moisture leakage between the cement. This condition required the customer to repaint these sections of the columns every year.
Goals of the Project
- Restore the bottom sections of the columns to bare cement.
- Leave the columns unpainted so that the natural concrete look would allow them to avoid having to repaint these sections annually.
- Sandblast 7 layers of paint off the columns leaving the underlying aggregate smooth and aesthetically appealing.
